Over-Flowing

Happy Fall Everyone!

We are coming into one of the best seasons, here in Minnesota: September and October are worth the wait, through the hot summer months and endless mosquitoes. Still have those pesky bugs, hanging around, but soon there will come a cold snap and then they will be gone! Meanwhile, the leaves are turning, the air is refreshing, the sweatshirts are coming out...and yet the Chaco sandals remain. I intend to wear mine as long as possible!

We've had a full season with lots of creative endeavors. I'm grateful for my standing-order clients who've hired me to plant, prune and weed; making their yards a more beautiful place. I've loved creating pot displays for many of you, watching the annuals fill in on my visits!

There have been several design projects as well. Two of my clients, from years past, have moved recently--giving me some repeat business as we designed the foundations of their new homes. Its been fun to try some new plants as well as use familiar ones that worked well before.

One project that I'd like to highlight is a Pondless Waterfall that was started, August of 2018 and finished in June of this year. A friend asked me, along with some mutual friends, if we would be interested in creating a water feature out at Whispers of Hope.

WOH is a local, faith-based, non-profit that helps women in crisis.

They offer housing, counseling...a place for healing and restoration. It is a beautiful, quaint farm with a lot of space, buildings and animals to spend time with. They also have some room for local women, who need a weekend away from home, to catch a break and recharge.

It was a bigger project than I had anticipated, but so much fun! It was great working with friends, and family members, to see what we could do together. We enlisted the help of some strong, capable guys to help us with the dirt work. We met a few new friends, connected to WOH, who also showed up to help. New skills were learned, memories were made--very grateful for the opportunity to invest in something that will bless many people that come through their doors!

Getting the drainage basket in place

Lots of rocks and dirt moved today. Thankfull for many willing hands...

We had a little help: thank you Thrivent!

August 2018: We have running water!

Beautiful Sights and Sounds

Placing rocks is a kind of art-form. It's difficult to make it look like God put it there. I suppose one can never really duplicate the Creator of all things!

Astilbe, Heuchera and Aralia

Shady palette: Hostas, Heucheras, Astilbe, Brunnera, Ferns, Aralia...

June 2019: Planting is complete!

Pure joy and delight!

Thanks for stopping by :) May you leave inspired and encouraged today!

Cheers--Liz
